Cook County: Allow Outdoor Composting

Please specify an acceptable outdoor composting method for human waste in the new septic ordinance. We want to protect the nutrient cycle, the environment, and a simple way of life.

Why is this important?

My wife and I are young land owners and environmentalists. We want to be able to manage our own human waste in a responsible and safe way, but Cook County's proposed septic ordinance only allows for commercial composting toilets to be used for this purpose. These toilets are notorious for being ineffective, hard to clean, and taking up too much space. We are simply asking for another alternative.
