Corp. Giant Abandons 90 YRO with Possible Cancer in Favor of Suspect Doctor

A life and a beautiful mind are terrible things to waste – at any age - and to be deemed as over-and-out by big corporate health care providers is criminal. Earth to Humana: Your doctors are not God.

Picture a doctor who attempts character assassination on your 90 year old aunt, then delays her treatment for a thyroid that is overtaken by potentially cancerous nodules, then denies her the right of choice for a desperately needed specialist referral - from within the approved directory of Network of Providers - and convinces his employer to back him up.

That is what has been happening to my cutie-pie, hyper-aware, charming little 90 year old Aunt Monica. Aunt Monica needs your help.

We are getting the run around by Humana health insurance. A previously good Humana doctor, Dr. Kathariguppa Venkataram - Dr. Ram, for short - has gone rogue, and Humana is fully supporting this doctor’s questionable behaviors.

On behalf of Aunt Monica, please join me in demanding that Humana health insurance:

- Issue an executive mandate that their Dr. Ram immediately provide a desperately needed referral for an Endocrinologist of our choice from within the Humana approved Network of Providers to examine and treat her potentially cancerous nodule-inundated thyroid.

- Provide assistance in quickly acquiring and transitioning to the care of a different Humana Internal Medicine Primary Care Physician.

- Have an outside, non-private-sector entity perform a thorough investigation into Dr. Ram’s handling of Aunt Monica’s case, and determine if he has treated other patients so horribly.

- Formally reprimand Dr. Ram, and if warranted, fire him.

- Revise its’ policies for reviewing atypical patient scenarios, and provide patients the benefit of the doubt – not Humana doctors.
