Corporate lobbying should be outlawed

We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, believe that the practice of "lobbying" members of Congress and people of political influence (spending lavishly on perks and other rewards to influence the passage of legislation favorable to them) needs to be stopped. We elect our public officials to represent us and our interests, not to get rich for representing corporations' or wealthy entities' interests. We believe this practice is largely responsible for the inability of our government to represent their people fairly,

Why is this important?

The practice of large, wealthy corporations spending lavishly to influence Congressional legislation needs to be outlawed. It is clear that this practice promotes legislation that caters to special interests at the expense of the common good for American citizens. This is tantamount to "insider trading" on Wall Street.
