It should be illegal with a penalty of 10 years in prison for any Congressman to vote on a bill that he/she (or any member of their imediate family) has received contributions/gifts from the organization that would benefit from the bill. The congressman has the right to promote the bill to his constituents but can not vote for or against said bill. That any American Citizen has the right to bring charges against said Congressman for violating the law.
Why is this important?
This petition is to force the Congress to be accountable for the money they take from Corporations and Lobbyist groups for their own personal profit. It will also allow the American People the right to take said Congressman/Congresswoman to court for prosecution. As of now the Congress handles these matters it's self. Which means that unless the press gets a hold of the story, nothing ever happens.
