To: The United States Senate
Cut Costs! Save Benefits! Save Medicare
Big Pharma has employed an army of lobbyists to ensure that Medicare pays higher than market rates for prescription drugs. Medicare beneficiaries are left with having to make the hard choice between affording their medications and keeping a roof over their heads.
The Senate has a commonsense approach in front of them right now that could save Medicare benefits and cut costs: Bring the pharmaceutical industry to the table to negotiate lower drug prices within the program.
This would save seniors and taxpayers a minimum of $142 billion over ten years!
We have an opportunity to stop getting ripped off and to tell Congress that our parents and grandparents should be able to afford the medicines they need to stay healthy!
It is common practice for government programs to negotiate prescription prices. The Veterans Administration takes measures on behalf of our service men and women every year. Yet Medicare was specifically banned from that practice when 'Medicare Part D' was passed into law.
Sign this national petition to reduce MEDICARE Rx PRICES
Sincerely,

Why is this important?
Our parents and grandparents shouldn't have to choose between paying an electric bill or buying the medicines they need to stay healthy. We need to push the Senate Finance Committee to put a crucial bill on the floor: one that could save taxpayers and Medicare recipients $billions.
