The Senators and Congressmen should be called upon to help the nation, just as they are asking the less fortunate. Let's cut their salaries by 30% and stop them from receiving any retirement until they have retired and have reached the age of 70. Their retirement package should be no better than the average US government worker.
Why is this important?
The Republicans want to cut the benefits that so many people in this country need - in most part due to their ineptness in the 8 years that President Bush was in office. The unfunded wars and tax cuts put this country into debt. They deregulated Wall Street. It is time for the Senators and Congressmen to accept their fair share in the cuts.
