In light of the country's budget crisis and indebtedness, I believe Congress should have its wages frozen/reduced and its benefits package revisited/reduced in an effort to get our fiscal house in order. How dare them ask everyone else to make do with less while they continue to maintain their current compensation package. Members of Congress do not work any harder than any other working person in the US. If they were true patriots, they would volunteer to take pay/benefits cuts to show their dedication to doing what''s best for the USA.
Why is this important?
Congress should do its part to help get the country's fiscal house in order. Why should the members be exempt from cutbacks?
