To: Donald Trump

Dear Mr. Trump

Dear Mr. Trump,
On November 8, you were elected by the electoral college system to be the next president of the United States. You did not win the popular vote. If you had a mandate, it was to break the gridlock that has prevented our government from solving our problems. You do not have a mandate to ignore the views of the majority of Americans.
The majority of Americans believe:
1. in equal rights and opportunities for all Americans
2. in doing whatever we can to limit the devastating consequences of climate change
3. in a thoughtful and reasoned approach to immigration reform
4. in building strong alliances to protect us from global threats
5. in addressing income inequality
6. in access to reasonable healthcare for all Americans
7. in thoughtful gun safety measures
8. in educating our children to be successful in today's global economy

Please hear us. Prove that you are the uniter you claim to be – and carry out the will of the majority of the people. Choose your advisors carefully - and listen to the facts, and dissenting opinions before you act
Thank you.

Why is this important?

The president elect is rapidly putting together a team of people whose views and positions stand in stark contrast to the majority of the country. We need Mr. Trump to understand that he was not elected with a mandate to ignore the views of the people. His mandate was to break the gridlock that has prevented the government from effectively solving our problems.
