To: President Donald Trump
Declare a World War on Climate Change ("WW2C")
Mr. President: Nothing short of a declaration of war by the global community of nations will adequately focus the commitment and resources of the U.S. and all nations on the fight against Climate Change in the time frame that is required.
We need you, Mr. President, to lead the charge, declare this war and sway opinion using your full powers as Commander-in-Chief to commit the entire nation to doing what is needed. The American people want to overcome the fossil fuel industry's deadly and deceptive propaganda machine and corrupt political hold on the Congress and free our country to act decisively against this horrific threat.
As President, we need you to vision and lead the way among world leaders to a new paradigm of a World War—one that activates the scientific knowledge and capabilities of each nation toward cooperation, critical alliances, and commitment against our common enemy: our addiction to dirty energy and its pollution that is driving global warming past the critical point of 2 degrees C. Achieving temperature stabilization needs all nations allied together and by doing so, they will share the victory over this grave and urgent threat to all life on the planet and the economic benefits—which is the only way to enable a bright, more cooperative future.

Why is this important?
We simply can't afford to wait: the risks to our world are just too great. Obama has just one year left to tackle this problem but the stranglehold of the people/corporations/lobbyists who would prevent us from defending ourselves from this threat make a political response impossible. It is the sworn duty of the President to defend America from enemies and climate deniers must be seen as being the (self-serving) enemy of the state that they really are. Declaring "war" generates enormous economic potential, so let's also kick-start our economy by gearing up solar manufacturing here, research and development for "good" (LFTR) nuclear and training our troops not to kill but to deploy solar panels everywhere. With this war we can: 1) Move our country and our partner countries quickly into a collective clean energy future; 2) Defeat the fossil fuel hegemony that will kill our planet for profit; 3) End the increase in carbon emissions and rapidly decrease global emissions to allow our climate to stabilize; 4) Rapidly de-fund Middle East terrorists who benefit from our need for oil and our revenues; 5) Build a military that has the skills that are needed in the clean energy work force of the future and 6) Fund the R&D necessary to expedite the technologies that enable us to further mitigate and adapt to the amount of climate change that is already under way.
