Please protect the 50 million Americans who under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act who are for the first time able to obtain insurance and healthcare. Defend the PPACA and improve it with a strong Medicare-like public option

Republicans are falling over themselves to get to a microphone or TV camera to fuss in false overconcern for the 4-5 million citizens whose substandard insurance policies are being cancelled. As an emergency physician I am face to face everyday with many of the 50 million of Americans until now locked out of insurance and good healthcare. While nowhere as good as single payer, the PPACA does protect many patients. We must thus protect the PPACA.
