To: Rep. Ralph Abraham (LA-5)
Demand a town hall with Rep. Abraham
For someone who claims to spend more time at "home" than any other member of Congress, the constituents of Louisiana's 5th District have a hard time getting in touch with Rep. Ralph Abraham. He isn't holding a single public event during the two-week recess and his staff members are unresponsive to requests for public meetings. Abraham was elected to represent his the people of this district and he can't do so without communicating with us -- sign this petition and demand a he hold a town hall!
Why is this important?
As one of seven constituents who met with Abraham's Monroe staff and District Director and subsequently had our concerns deemed not important enough to pass along to the Congressman and his DC staff -- and were told that Abraham had already "made up his mind" on the proposed health care bill and nothing we said would sway him -- I feel that Rep. Abraham should face his constituents and speak for himself. The people he represents deserve that and we deserve to have our concerns heard and taken to heart when Abraham is making decisions on our behalf in Washington.
