It should be illegal to hike gas prices arbitrarily since we have a surplus of oil and we subsidize the industry.
Why is this important?
I find it appalling that we as tax payers subsidize an industry that can arbitrarily hike up prices. Either force them to pay taxes industry wide or pay huge fines equal to the amount of money they avoid paying in taxes annually. Lower gas prices and prevent them from raising prices as long as they benefit for tax loop holes and subsidies.
