As many survivors of domestic violence have discovered, domestic abusers often go on to victimize others, becoming serial abusers. If a person’s history of spousal abuse or child abuse were made PUBLIC and VIEWABLE, it would be invaluable to people seeking a mate or a stepparent for their child. A National Registry for Domestic Violence Offenders would undoubtedly save lives, as does the National Sex Offenders Registry.
Why is this important?
My daughter was killed by her abusive spouse. Other people could be spared such a fate if more information about their potential partners were easily accessible.
