I demand that Congress pass real gun control legislation today. This must include universal background checks on every person buying a gun or buying ammunition, whether at a gun show, a Walmart or a gun shop. I insist that no magazine sold in America be capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition (except those used by military or police). I demand that congress act today. Not in a week. Not in a month. Today.
Why is this important?
Today, the Senate failed to pass a simple piece of legislation to help keep unreasonably lethal weapons and ammunition out of the hands of those who clearly cannot be trusted with them. Send them back. Demand that the Senate put real controls in place so that we can feel safe dropping our children off at school.
