Derail Crude Oil
Three crude oil terminals are being proposed at the Port of Grays Harbor storing millions of gallons of toxic fuel on the shores of a fragile estuary. One of the terminals is immediately next to a refuge that is a hemispherically critical stopover for migratory birds.
The crude will be transported via inadequate rail lines that cross 100 rivers and creeks in Grays Harbor alone. The Grays Harbor bar is one of the most dangerous crossings in the State and spill recovery is next to impossible.
When the spill happens, it will be an ecological and economical disaster threatening the historical marine resource industries. We must break our dependence on fossil fuels and invest in sustainable energy. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this threat to our coast and waterways.

Why is this important?
Our continued dependence on fossil fuels will accelerate detrimental climate change and contribute to ocean acidification. Grays Harbor should be a leader in innovative clean industries and trade.
