Recently, there have been violent confrontations between Trump supporters and individuals who purport to represent the resistance movement. We the undersigned condemn any violence and summarily disavow those who engage in violent and destructive actions. We will no longer stand by and have our movement characterized by fringe elements who are antithetical to our values of the peaceful expression of our first amendment rights.

Why is this important?

The mischaracterization of our movement as violent extremism undermines our core values of peaceful protest and inclusiveness.
We seek to reach out to all people who want a fairer and just society.
