Disband C P S
We the people of America after experiencing the painful loss of family members or witnessing the same happening to others are hereby notifying the Congress and the Whitehouse of the urgent need for a full Congressional investigation into the activities of the agency known as Child Protective Services, especially with regard to their custodial interference in situations where no legal charges have been, or will be filed against the parents. We object to court hearings that are closed not only to the public but also to other family members. We object to children being removed from their family sometimes for as long as a year or in many cases forever. We object to the use of Federal dollars to fund the activities of CPS. We want the Congress to consider disbanding Child Protective Services and to investigate the possibility of dividing this responsibility between law enforcement and other social service programs.
Why is this important?
The following petition was started by me after my grandson was taken from my home in Phoenix, AZ by CPS of Riverside County, California.
In 2011 my daughter and son-in-law lived in California. They had an open case with CPS. I'm not sure why they had a case and they were not sure why they had a case. CPS opened the case because in 2010 they took my granddaughter from them when they got a phone call from a relative who had an ax to grind. So on the word of someone who didn't even live in the same state they went to my daughters house and took her little girl. My daughter was never accused of anything. My son-in-law tested positive for Marijuana and he went through their drug program month after month and tested clean every time he was called. They both did everything they were asked to do, however CPS and the so called family court forcibly adopted my granddaughter out. They actually sent her out of the state before the case was closed. When my grandson was born about 6 months later they were right there. They never took custody of him but they insisted on following my kids home so they could see if everything was suitable according to their standards and they opened a case. Once again my daughter and her husband had to go through the parenting classes and once again my son-in-law had to go for drug testing even though he tested clean every time, and once again they had to talk with counselors and advisors, and a whole long list of people who never raised a child in their life, etc. There case was supposed to be closed in May, however when they got into court the case worker asked the judge to leave it open because some member of their entourage had missed one appointment with my daughter and her husband. The reason she had missed the appointment was because she didn't show up. In fact this woman had told my daughter over the phone that it really wasn't that important. The truth was she had not shown up for most of their other appointments either but she had marked them in the records as completed. The Judge left the case open as he was told to do. In July my daughter and her husband became homeless after losing their jobs. It's very difficult to jump through the CPS hoops and still maintain your work schedule or do a job search. When my daughter called me about their situation I told her to get on the bus with her husband and the baby and come to my place in Arizona so they did. After looking for work locally and not having much luck they left the baby in my custody and went to another state to follow up on other possible opportunities. In the mean time I was taking care of my grandson (David). We were having a good time shopping for toys, some baby furniture and cloths. We were preparing to take a trip to Oregon in December and spend Christmas with David's Great Grandmother, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. My other 2 grandsons were looking forward to meeting him and they had presents for him under the tree. We were scheduled to leave on Wednesday. On Monday the police showed up at my door along with a CPS case worker from California. They had an Order Of Protection warrant issued by a Federal Court Judge. I couldn't believe it. A CPS case worker in Riverside County, California had gone to a judge and was granted a bench warrant charging my daughter and her husband with kidnap and then she used that warrant to get a federal judge to grant the Order of Protection warrant. I thought that federal warrant was only for cases where a child was in danger. My daughter and her husband had never ever in their entire married life together been charged with or even accused of abuse of any kind what so ever. They were never abusive yet this woman who was able to do this to my grandson. I say to my grandson because he was taken from his family who loves him so very much and put into a home with strangers who take care of children for money. Now 8 months later we are still fighting to get him back. His Great Grandmother turned 97 in May. She might never get to see him. Every time I talk with her she asks about David. I don’t know what to tell her. What can you say about a system that has the power of Hitler’s SS Troops. They run the court. They rule the Judge. Hearings are closed to the public. Whatever the CPS case worker says is accepted without question, if they are investigated they do it themselves. When a child is David's age they forget quickly. By the time we do get him home with his family where he belongs he will have to go through the process of separation all over again. Children don't consciously remember much of what happens to them before the age of five, however it does effect their entire life. Not being able to remember is what can makes it so damaging. It is easier to deal with things you can remember. Taking a child from a loving family for no real good reason and placing them with strangers is abuse. Right now my grandson is being abused, by the County of Riverside, California by the state of California, by the Federal court system, and by The National Child Protection Act of 1993 a system that rewards the CPS agency for destroying American Families. I'm sure that was not what was intended by those who brought this act to fruition however that is what is happening.
Since this horrible thing has come into our lives I have been searching the internet and news papers and I have found thousands of other American families who have suffered the same fate. Children removed from their home for some minor reason, held in captivity for a year or more, adopted out to strangers. You have to ask yourself why. What is in it for the agency. An agency that’s always complaining about their work load. The answer of course is Money. The abuse of American children is funding the payroll for a lot of employees who would otherwise be looking for a job.
