Divest from the gun industry
Divest our state's pension fund from those companies that produce and profit from guns.
Why is this important?
America must stop its dysfunctional love affair with guns. This includes supporting the industry that produces weapons whose sole purpose is to kill.
My Great Uncle Cliff fought in World War II because he believed he was protecting our freedom. He died in a mental hospital because he shot and killed someone who was simply knocking on his door because he thought he was an enemy soldier.
Uncle Cliff was not a violent man. He was a man with mental issues who should have never been allowed to have a gun. This was 1972. Not much, if anything, has changed.
