Please do not cut my social security. It is not an "Entitlement." I've been paying into it my entire, adult, work life. The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment" or entitlement. This isn't a benefit--its earned income! I've paid into it and "trusted" my government to protect me.
Instead, it feels like we've been victim of a Ponzi scheme where OUR money has been misappropriated. Now that the monies have been misused by the one's we've trusted we are all being told that the money won't support us for very much longer.
Please don't destroy the trust we have in our legislators. Protect what we've earned. Protect us!
Why is this important?
I have family members who are dependent on their social security checks. I am nearing the time when I too will be dependent on it. With rising costs for food, clothing, shelter and gasoline we can't afford to have this right cut.
