Do Not Steal My Retirement
I went to school for more than 20 years to earn a PhD and then worked for the US Government. During my Federal tenure, my ability to receive Social Security benefits from funds I had paid into the Social Security Fund before working for the Government were reduced by one-half to two-thirds. The original deal (promise) was, I pay in so that I receive a calculated amount when I reach retirement, based on my earnings.
Further reductions in Social Security is a continuation of this cold, hard thievery by those in suits and furs (Congress). Stop, get your paws out of my purse.
As a solution, first, Congress should take a big pay cut; Congress makes very little effort to learn how to get along and negotiate, like petulant, spoiled children with jam down their fronts. Let's also cut Congress' pension by two-thirds. This would be based on "they don't deserve it" - true, and "they don't need it" - most likely true.
Lesson: Don't rob Social Security, a fund entrusted to the Government for those who worked and paid in. This is not your money to manipulate and steal.
Congress, get extensive instruction on how to get along and also learn how to think of and thank others whose shoulders you stand on. I know you think you are all big deals; but really, you are lazy, puffed up, have poor memories and have forgotten for whom you work.
And, perhaps you should exercise and go to church, on your own dime, not mine.
