DoJ, Stop helping Amazon destroy its competition.
The DoJ should be suing Amazon.com for monopolistic practices, not suing publisher trying to protect themselves, their authors and booksellers from the onslaught of Amazon's war on its competitors.
Why is this important?
By forcing Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Penguin Group (USA), Simon & Schuster and Apple to abandon the agency plan (whereby a publisher sets the prices of its books and ebooks), DoJ allows Amazon to continue to sell below cost and thus destroy competition and become the publishers' only customer. The publishers are only defending themselves, authors and all booksellers against the Amazon leviathan.
