Donot Sale or Lease Belle Isle to the State of Michigan
We the people do not approve of the City of Detroit leasing or selling Belle Isle to the State of Michigan or any entity for operation and/or management of the property. We are asking every elected official stop any plans related to the sale and/or lease of Belle Isle.
Why is this important?
The citizens of Detroit are requesting that the Detroit City Council and mayor not lease Belle Isle to the State of Michigan or any other entity. It is a travesty for the citizens to lose complete control over the management and operation of Belle Isle. We believe strongly that the citizens can assemble a strong and effective strategic plan for the both the operation and financial support of the Belle Isle so that it will remain the people's jewel and a leisure time location for all.
