Don't Change The DCCAH!
Dear Mayor Muriel Bowser,
Your office has proposed a Department of Arts and Humanities within the Mayor's office with an Executive Director appointed by you. This would give “exclusive authority for evaluating and initiating action on matters relating to the arts and humanities”, and leave the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities in merely an advisory capacity. This consolidation of power must not happen! The DCCAH should remain an objective voice within the DC arts community.

Why is this important?
The DC Commission for Arts and Humanities should remain independent from the Office of the Mayor. It is alarming that the Mayor's office wants to consolidate power considering it's recent flirtation with censorship. Please sign the petition which will be sent to Mayor Muriel Bowser opposing this proposed change.
