Don't Frack Up D.C.

The Washington Post just reported that the U.S. Forest Service could issue a plan as early as next month that could allow fracking in the George Washington National Forest. Washington, D.C.'s drinking water comes from that forest's watersheds, so fracking there could put D.C.'s drinking water at serious risk, according to a report by Environment America.

The article says, "Called 'Fracking by the Numbers,' the study looks at the impact of fracking on a national basis, concluding that more than 360,000 U.S. acres have been damaged by fracking since 2005."

It's a moral imperative to protect our drinking water, so I'm asking you: Will you oppose fracking in the George Washington National Forest?

Why is this important?
