Downtown Reno Weekends!!!

Downtown Reno is Reno’s biggest attraction especially on our amazing weekends, when families and friends love to wonder our downtown street spending time at our lovely arcades, located inside our beautiful casinos, as well as many love to experience our drunken side of Reno bar hopping down the strip. But what could be better than that? Potentially making our streets safer? I believe it would make a positive impact on our Reno community to be able to temporarily shut down our South Virginia street Friday nights throughout Sunday mornings. I think it would help decrease the rate of accidents, as well as drunk drivers, and pedestrians getting hit, I also believe it would give out local small businesses a chance to make themselves a little more known, and give our community more actives to come out to, and grow together as a community, and make light of these darker times.

Why is this important?

Have you ever left your house and your parent, or significant other said “be safe, I love you” and have you ever wondered “why?” Potentially because we live in a harsh world of being in fear of what could happen, maybe you tell your waitress your allergic to grapes, and she forgets to tell the cook, or maybe are crossing the street and a drunk driver isn’t paying attention to the red light he’s approaching, We live in a world where we have to live in a constant state of fear, of what could happens, so what if we deduct one less thing we have to worry about when we want to go downtown and have a fun night with our friends/ family? We wouldn’t have to worry about our kids running into the street into oncoming traffic, or drunk drivers not paying attention to approaching red lights? Instead worry about “what food truck do you want to try?” Or “what size is this?” With the opportunity presenting itself why wouldn’t we pick enjoyment over fear?
