Driving Privilege Cards for New Jersey Immigrants

New Jersey continues to be one of the world's greatest location for newly arrived immigrant families. Now, it is time to help these families establish roots in the Garden State by allowing them to drive legally in this state while their immigration status becomes more permanent.

Therefore, we need your support of two proposed State Bills initially sponsored in 2014 (NJ Assembly Bill A135 and NJ Senate Bill S1696) that will establishes a driving privilege cards for New Jersey residents who cannot prove lawful presence in United States.

Why is this important?

Many families fall victim to an unjust system when they are stopped in a car without the proper documentations. Some have actually been deported merely for being passengers in a car simply because of the absence of a US government ID such as a driving license or, as proposed by these bills, a Driving Privilege Card.

Therefore, it is important to provide a NJ Driving Privilege Card to these families in the interim, while a Comprehensive Immigration Reform is approved at a federal level.
