To: The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate
Dump the Grover Norquist Anti-Tax Pledge
In the year 2012 in the United States of America, it should be illegal for one rich man, or any organization or entity, to dictate the policies or to control the votes of members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. It should be illegal for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, whether accepting remuneration or not, to "pledge" their votes on the policies of the United States to align with any person, organization or any other entity outside of the body they serve -- the American People!
Why is this important?
The Grover Norquist Anti-Tax Pledge seems to be standing between parties attempting to negotiate a solution to the fiscal crisis our government is facing. Why in the year 2012 should it be legal for our elected officials to sign a pledge to serve any one or any thing other than their appointed duty -- to serve the wishes of the people who elected them.
