Each family deserves safe water in California

There should be a law that ensures every family household should be allowed the provisions of access to safe water. The drought in California is real and having new housing developments that provide water pipes from these nearby cities to these rural areas should be allowed for every household. There are houses that barely have, if any, running water in their homes. But, new housing developments continue in the rural areas with no access to these previous existing homes to tap into these water pipes that are being laid in the ground. This is because there is no legislative law that requires this in California. However, in Oklahoma, they do things differently and provide homes with access to water even in the rural areas. No home should be without running water, period.

Why is this important?

Our family has been without running water for over three years. Our contact with Fresno County and the Representatives has been a waste of time because there is no law to push this issue. These new developments with water pipes being installed are based on contractual agreements and trying to tap into those pipes affects the contract, which the people will not change. If there was a law advocating such a request to ensure that no family is without water it would make a difference for all families.
