We, EGFN, band members deserve a “Out of Court Land Settlement” process to explain the historical aspects of the land! Consulting is an important part of good governance, sound policy development and decision-making. In addition to good governance objectives, Canada has common law obligations to consult with Eel Ground First Nation band members. The Government of Canada is working hard to enhance the role of Parliament and the proactive disclosure of information so that Canadians are better able to hold Parliament, their government and public sector officials to account.
Why is this important?
Under article 8 of the PSDPA, wrongdoing is defined as an act or omission, we deserve to know what is happening with our Land Claim!
