The United States Constitution shall be amended to dissolve and discontinue the Electoral College as a method of choosing the President of the United States and substitute direct popular election as the method of choosing the President.
Why is this important?
Nearly all of our representatives in local, state and the United States government are elected by direct popular vote except for the President (and Vice President) of the United States.
Although voters in every state cast a vote for the U.S. President they are actually, in effect, voting for a slate of electors who in turn vote in the Electoral College for the person who will be President.
There have been times in the past when a person who won the popular vote did not become President. We need to end the Electoral College and choose our President by direct popular vote.
