Ample technology exists to modify existing (personal) weapons and to manufacture new ones with electronic safety locks. One would need their fingerprint and/or a pin to use it. This should be the most urgent law to be enacted in combination with restricted access and restricted types (of weapons and amunition).
Even by itself, it is a powerful starting point. The manufacturer would have to bear a significant part of the cost and a fee assessed on licenses or a tax on fire arm buyers/owners to pay for the rest. Compliance would be volunteer at first and mandatory later.
Please introduce such bill and act on it.
