WHENEVER ANYONE APPLIES FOR ANY TYPE OF GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE HOUSING, FOODSTAMPS, MEDICARE, MEDICADE, ETC. THE APPLICATION GUIDELINES ARE SET ON GROSS INCOME... IT IS IN MY OPINION THAT IT SHOULD BE BASED ON NET INCOME AS PEOPLE ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES LIVE ON WHAT THEY ACTUALLY TAKE HOME, NOT WHAT IS SHOWN BEFORE TAXES... I THINK THAT THIS IS UNFARE AND UNJUST... WITH THE ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS TODAY, LIVING ON WHAT YOU BRING HOME IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE... LOW INCOME, RETIRED AND SENIOR CITIZENS NEED A BREAK SOMEPLACE AND I FEEL THAT BEING ASSESSED ON GROSS INCOME IS JUST NOT RIGHT...
Why is this important?
STATE/GOVERNMENT ASSIST APPLICATIONS BEING BASED ON GROSS INCOME RATHER ON NET INCOME.
