Eliminate disclosure of past non-violent crimes to future emplyers

If you have successfully completed your court ordered probation or parole you no longer have to disclose the conviction to a future employer unless your conviction was for a violent felony.

Why is this important?

There are some people out there who are unable to find work due to a felony on their record. I myself have a felony DUI 5 years ago and I have not been able to find a job once I have to disclose that felony. I have severed my parole and successfully discharged and have not reoffended. I have achieved 2 college degrees since my conviction and I am proposing that felony and misdemeanor convictions once you have served your sentence should not have to be disclosed to future employers. You should only have to disclose wheather you are currently on parole or probation or were convicted of a violent felony in the past.
