The goal of reducing use of "disposable" items in restaurants-- by using reusable items, "trial program" of green-angel volunteers who help clean/ wash reusable items, by food consumers bringing their own reusable containers/ utensils etc-- with the aim of one day eliminating disposables is a worthy effort; this would help to make for a sustainable singular haven (that we know of at this time) for life in the uni/multiverse: our tiny, beautiful home planet earth.
Why is this important?
Nearly every meal we eat outside the home involves use of disposable food/drink containers, utensils, straws. A minority of these paper/ plastic/ styrofoam items are recycled; a massive burden of waste is generated from each meal. Even the process of recycling involves significant energy use and is not optimally efficient.
