Eliminate or modify state vehicle inspections?

Eliminate or modify the motor vehicle inspection program. Too many Hawai'i residents cannot afford our strict standards.

Why is this important?

What are your thoughts on this?

Too many residents cannot afford to keep their older vehicles on the road when new car standards are applied to them. The U.S. Government Accountability Office, the research arm of Congress, issued a 2014 report saying it can find no definitive evidence that mandatory inspection programs reduce accidents, noting crash rates are about the same in states that have them as in those that do not.

  • It’s unnecessary and it’s only for the money get rid of it
