Systemic pesticides, those absorbed into the plant with the inability to wash it off, therefore, we eat it in every bite, have no place being used on food crops. Examples of systemic pesticides are those containing glyphosate or the neonicitinoid class of pesticides. Stop this dangerous practice.
Why is this important?
There are no long term safety studies that prove systemic pesticides are safe for humans and feed animals. Certain studies done in other countries have shown harm from these chemicals to animals, however, we in the US do no independent studies outside of those done by the companies with vested financial interests in the products. Such use/practices call for the Precautionary Principle to stop such use until studies and peer review of the studies can take place.
