Eliminate the Contribution Cap for Social Security

Right now, Americans pay Social Security tax on the first $110K of income and nothing over that. This is absurd. We working- and middle-class citizens are taxed on every dime we make; the very wealthy should be as well. There is no reason for the millionaires' earnings to be exempt. It's a commonsense way to keep Social Security solvent and help our seniors out of poverty.

Why is this important?

Social Security has been the single-greatest anti-poverty program in our nation's history. However, the program is in danger of disappearing due to insolvency. So many of our seniors are struggling just to survive. After decades of hard work, they live on budgets that should make us, a country with so much, ashamed. Eliminating the cap on Social Security tax is a common-sense and relatively painless way to benefit us all. -- www.facebook.com/kickingassforthemiddleclass
