Prohibiting conviction, by setting time limitations in sexual assault or rape cases, is a violation of civil rights in protection of trespass and the right to due process. Eliminate the statue of limitations for bringing conviction for rape or any sexual trespass.
Why is this important?
Maine has reduced the time to bring conviction for sexual assault from 10 to 8 years. Sexual assault is committing trespass which is covered under due process in the Constitution. Statutes of Limitations serves to violate this civil right of due process.
