Empower Itasca County Residents to Direct Their Tax Dollars

I am a resident of Itasca County, Minnesota, and like many others in my community, I believe that we should have a say in how our tax dollars are being used. We work hard for our money and it's only fair that we get to choose what causes it supports. Our taxes are currently being allocated without our input, often towards issues that some of us may not believe in or support.

It is important to note that public participation in budgeting processes can lead to more equitable outcomes. According to the National League of Cities (NLC), participatory budgeting - where residents have a say on spending - has been successfully implemented in various cities across the US leading to improved transparency and trust between citizens and government.

Any events, that have been labeled as controversial, should not be allowed to use tax funded properties, services or entities.
