In order to save billions of dollars in spending and tax credits, Congress should eliminate all subsidies for the production of ethanol from corn. It should also eliminate all tax credits to refineries for the adding of ethanol to gasoline.
Why is this important?
Agricultural subsidies for corn predominantly go to large corporate farms. Ethanol from corn is creates tax credits to refineries to add to our gasoline. This combined, costs several billion dollars per year.
The amount of fuel and chemicals that are required to grow corn,
create a negative impact on our clean air.
