Corporate Personhood
Did you know Wal-Mart is a person?
Do think Exxon Mobil should have more rights than a natural born Citizen of this country?
Did you know that the Supreme Court has said that money is a form of speech for the corporations and it is protected by the Constitution?
Do you think that the ratification of the 14th amendment guaranteeing the rights of free slave as citizens should have been used to give corporations the same or more rights than the people?
Do you think Wal-Mart is a person or Archer Daniels Midland is a person?
If you think is wrong, then join us today in asking the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, President Obama to sign and pass an update to the 14th amendment inserting the word “natural” in front of the word person(s). The courts have used the 14th amendment to further the power of the corporations over our political process, legal process and judiciary. The addition would relegate corporations as “artificial” persons, not having all the rights as natural persons.

Why is this important?
In the 1886 case between Santa Clara County v Southern Pacific Railroad, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations had the same rights as natural person, by using the language in the 14th Amendment guaranteeing freed African Americans legal rights. This ruling has allowed for the courts to side with corporations in the Citizens United case to allow for unlimited corporate donations ot elections.
