End life sentences for first time offenders; atal car wrecks, drug charges, etc.
Why is this important?
My husband was given a life sentence plus 15 years to run consecutively and charged with 2nd degree murder for a fatal car accident. This is the prime example of excessive/harsh sentencing. With no priors, there's nothing to suggest he's a violent or habitual/career criminal. Please help my family and I put a stop to the injustice shown in cases like my husband's. Please help to give my husband the opportunity to come home one day and prove he can be a productive citizen again. Each and every signature is very much appreciated.
