To: Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-2)

End militarization of police forces.

We believe that local police departments should serve and protect, not look and act like occupying armies.

We are deeply disturbed by what we have seen in Ferguson, Missouri.

Congresswoman Gabbard, you are a veteran who served in Iraq, so you know it is impossible to win the hearts and minds of the people by pointing assault rifles at their chests.

We hereby request that you use your influence as a member of the House Armed Services Committee to introduce and pass legislation that sets strict limits on the sale and distribution of military-grade weapons and vehicles by the Pentagon to local police forces across America.

Why is this important?

The recent events in Ferguson, Missouri, make the dangers of police militarization obvious. It is time for strict limits to be placed on the sale and supply of military-grade weapons and vehicles by the Pentagon to local police forces.
