End Nighttime Towing in Troy!

Since 1965 Troy NY has towed cars parked overnight on many of its streets. The justification is for street cleaning or plowing - but cars are towed even when street cleaning or plowing are not done.

Even municipalities like New York City only ticket cars for being parked during street cleaning/plowing. The fees in Troy for getting towed are over $200 and may also include storage charges. People often have to take time off work to get their cars out of hock.

Enough is enough. The time to end nighttime and early morning towing is here. We appeal to the Troy City Council and the Mayor to only ticket at night and end the towing nightmare so many Troy citizens have been put through.

We request legislation be introduced and passed that will END, except in the case of dire emergency, the nighttime and early morning towing of cars in Troy, NY.

Why is this important?

So many people I know - and I myself - have been towed at night. It is unnecessary, needlessly expensive and time for it to end.
