End Our Dependence on Foreign Oil

The number one concern our nation faces right now is its dependence on foreign oil. We must work to change our energy infrastructure now, for national defense and to improve our economy. Put our country to work by providing incentives for businesses to implement known, provable renewable energy solutions, such as geothermal heating/cooling, wind power, and solar power. And provide incentives to companies to work on making ethanol from switchgrass and corn a viable energy source for vehicles. This way we can use our own valuable resources to become energy exporters instead of becoming bogged down in foreign wars over fast-dwindling fossil-fuel resources.

Why is this important?

Our country's future hinges on whether or not we can make the transition to local, renewable energy sources now, not in some far-distant nebulous future. Our economy, infrastructure, and continued military strength require energy resources that cannot be met fast-dwindling supplies of fossil fuels.
