End Plastic Bags
Let's continue to end our dependence on non-renewable oil and gas. Small changes, with lots of people can equal big results. Let's demand that plastic bags be eliminated from retailers and grocery stores throughout NC. We can do better and follow suit of others that have done this. Use paper or better yet, bring your own bags! Please sign the petition and help clean up the environment!
Why is this important?
Let's reduce our dependency on petroleum based plastic bags in North Carolina. Several large retailers have already started this initiative as well as small ones and we can follow their lead and also push legislation like in California that is attempting to do the same. This measure would reduce landfill waste by thousands of tons every year, save oceanic and other wildlife and increase public awareness about global warming.
