Stop mixing church and state. Our government cannot continue to use religious scriptures as an excuse to deny the gay community the right to marry.
Why is this important?
This petition is about the injustice and inequality that the gay community is facing in the state of Florida. Although discrimination against gays exists in other parts of our country, it is slowly declining with the recent legislation allowing gays to marry in several states such as New York, Washington, and Maryland. Ending this ban will end the use of personal religious beliefs in politics.
