To: LORETTA E. LYNCH, U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL

END THE ILLEGAL DISCRIMINATION

Use the power of the Justice Department to take on public officials who still want to deny same sex couples their legal rights. Dispatch FBI agents to arrest public officials for violation of 18 USC 241, conspiracy to deprive of rights, and 18 USC 242, deprivation of rights under color of law. Then prosecute these cases to the point of a conviction or guilty plea.

Public officials have a duty to insure everyone's rights, not violate them. Blatant violations of people's rights cannot go unanswered. You have both the authority and the responsibility to do something about this.

Why is this important?

Alabama probate judge Wes Allen of Pike County stopped issuing marriage licenses altogether in protest of the Supreme Court ruling on Friday that struck down state bans on same-sex marriage and legalized it nationwide.

Hours after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage across the country on Friday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told his department directors to not take action against any state officials who act or refuse to act on account of their "sincere religious belief." "This order applies to any agency decision, including but not limited to granting or denying benefits, managing agency employees, entering or enforcing agency contracts, licensing and permitting decisions, or enforcing state laws and regulations," Abbott wrote.

These are only two examples.

Such flagrant violations of people's rights cannot go unanswered.
