End the Law That Bans Atheists From Holding Public Office in Maryland

End religious persecution in the State of Maryland. Atheists should not be barred from holding public office.

Why is this important?

Article 37 of the Maryland State Constitution requires that you have believe in God in order to be allowed to hold public office. This law is discriminatory and infringes on an individuals right of whether they choose to believe in a God or not. Thus, the law should be removed from the Constitution.
