End The State Sales Tax On Groceries

The overall sales tax on groceries and over the counter medicines would be four percentage points lower than on other items if House Bill 45 was enacted.

With HB 45 school funding for K12 and higher education would be protected without raising taxes on lower income Alabamians.

The tax on food is why lower and middle income people pay twice as much in overall taxes than the richest pay in Alabama.

Let your legislators and the governor know that the people of Alabama deserve the same tax break that almost everybody else gets--except for Mississippians!

Why is this important?

Only two states--Mississippi and Alabama--don't give its citizens a tax break on groceries.
